East Iceland delicacies is a seal of quality for foods made with East Iceland ingredients - for products based on the traditions, craftsmanship and uniqueness of the region . Leaning on these centuries-long traditions, the cuisine of East Iceland Delicacies pursues the ideals  of enjoyment, expertise and distinction.

The region is renowned for its palatable local food. The reindeer, lamb and fresh fish with organic greens, wild berries, mushrooms and dairyproducts are the base of the prize-winning East Iceland cuisine.

East Iceland Delicacies was founded on February 26. 2009, in Egilsstaðir for the purposes of reinforcing East Iceland food heritage and combine the forces of those involved in local food production. The EID domain stretches from the Djúpivogur region in the south as far as Vopnafjörður in the north.
