Each town in East Iceland has their own characteristic.  By the coast connection to different countrys in Europa is wisual.  The connection have come through fishing in the ocean around East Iceland and by trading.  To France it's strongest in Faskrudsfjordur where the road sign have their names in France and where this connection is renewed each year in French days.  The connection can for example been seen in the buildings in Eskifjordur and Seydisfjordur who have Norwegian roots.  Enjoy this difference. And then enyoy Egilsstadir which is newest and without this ancient connection.
