Getting there and going places

Air Iceland  offers  daily flights 3 - 5 pr. day between  Egilsstaðir and Reykjavík. Flying time is 1 hour.
The Ferry Norræna  maintains a once-a-week connection with Denmark and the Faroese Islands.

Bus connection to/from the East:

1. From Akureyri via Mývatn: Scheduled tours by SBA. For information call  550 0700 or East Iceland information centre tel. 4712320
2. From Höfn in Hornafjörður: Sterna maintains daily bus service in summertime.  www.sterna.is  Tel. 5533737

Bus connections within the region:

1. Via the South-East fjords:  Austfjarðaleið tel. 477 1713:  Reyðarfjörður - Eskifjörður - Neskaupsstaður - Fáskrúðsfjörður -   Stöðvarfjörður and Breiðdalsvík.  
2. To/from Borgarfjörður eystri: Jakob and Margret tel. 894 8305, weekdays from Borgarfjörður (Stórurð) at 8:00 and from Egilsstaðir at 12:00.  
3. Seyðisfjörður  FAS  (Tel. 893 2669) maintains daily bus connection between Seyðisfjörður and Egilsstaðir.  For winter schedule 2011 click here.
